Sorry for all the journals, I feel like some kind of attention-creature, but I just had a thought...

Ever notice on the news that when some people die, they get some kind of special mention. No one famous, just some girl who died in a car crash or someone who was stabbed or something... Someone who had many friends, the popular kid or something. A person who was "loved by all."
Or on the complete opposite end of the spectrum; "He was abnormally quiet, I didn't really know him."

But many people die. Very many. Does everyone get their own article?
So where do I fit in? I'm fairly quiet in real life, and peculiar. But not dead silent. Just an inbetweener, I live to go to school, looking forward to go home.
And so we ask if different lives have different values. In this society the answer is clearly yes.
If I die, there will be no special obituary news report. Those several minutes about the guy who had an interesting peculiarity or was highly loved. Only if my body was mangled into a grotesquely dramatic way of course, or maybe suicide...

Away from the morbidness, I just went to see the Avengers. I thought it was pretty badass.
Loki is one slimy motherfucker. One look and you want to beat the crap out of him.
Just like Grima Wormtongue from LotR The Two Towers whispering shit into Théoden's ear, grrrr....

No one really sees you unless you're immensely good at something in particular.
Those with no specialty are left unnoticed.
If you're a weirdo and/or unattractive, your feelings and your voice don't really count.
No one cares unless you're good looking or dying anyway.

in my opinion not necessarily :)
Sometimes I think the same thing though. as I'm really quiet as well. I'm always a great student in the academic department, but no one outstanding in the big picture lol.

Sometimes in my experience I've seen the complete opposite, no one cares about you or bothers to take a second glance at you, but then when something horrible happens to you, everyone suddenly loves you.
orrr as you seem to suggest, i do agree that many people have the misfortune of fading away in obscurity. but in the grand scheme of things our whole civilization is nothing but a fraction of a blink compared to the world, we're all gonna die eventually so who cares if I'm remembered or not. Still a depressing thought though xD That's just how i see things, damn i sound pretty emo :lmao:
